『 ロング・ロングショット』[短縮版]

カメラを持つ私が 一人称視点のゲームの視線を意識しながら、特定の動作のみで渡瀬遊水池で毎年春に行われる約1500ha にわたる広大な野焼きを撮影したもの。熱烈にショットするカメラマンやカジュアルに記念撮影する老人、はしゃぐ子供達と、その奥に見える燃え盛る大地とでは、あまりにもギャップがあり、人と炎が合成されたものであるかのように見える。ゲーム的フレーミングに順応する燃え盛る大地とそれに収まらない人々が同じフレーム内に存在することで、風景はシュールなものに一変し、この状況の実在性そのものを曖昧にしていく。

Filmed at Watarase Detention Basin, during the Yoshiyaki (reed burning) practice held every spring in its 1500ha field using a first-person perspective found in video games. The excited children, the camera enthusiasts, and the elderly who seem to casually take photographs, juxtaposed with the apocalyptical field behind them make the scene seem artificial. The first-person perspective framing used to capture the burning field and the people in the foreground create a sense of surrealism, and blur the notion of reality within the video.
